I hope you enjoyed some of the photos of my home town. I would like to tell you more about the area.... The region where I live, are the major producers of Apples in the country. In the countryside you will find orchards of apples for many miles. Apples are grown seasonally. In the fall months. There are a variety of different kinds of apples grown. Some are very sweet to the taste, and some are more bitter. The apples are used to make apple pie deserts, applecider, or enjoyed as it is, right off the tree. There are many other things grown in the countryside as well. All kinds of vegetables, and other fruits too. As I told you before, My City has the best of both the urban life and the country life too. I like that about where I live. Some of the major cities are very big and busy and noisy. I like to visit the big cities like New York for example, but wouldn't want to live there, and raise children there. I like to be able to see wide open spaces, green hills and trees. Do you know what I mean? I like the easier pace of life here. Did you know that the man who invented the first camera lived here? His name was George Eastman. He was a very wealthy man after inventing  it. Rochester is known throughout the country as the birthplace of George Eastman. He has a huge estate in town. It's a museum now. It has a beautiful interior, with lots of art work on the walls. My city also is called the "lilac city," because of it's many fragrant lilac trees. In the summer there is a big "lilac festival," with music, entertainment, and attractions. There are a number of summer festival's here as well. One in particular is the Jazz festival. Lots of people come out to hear the music. Do you ride horses? There are lot's of good stables where you can go horse back riding. It doesn't cost too much for a few hours of riding. Did I leave anything out?  Sorry if I talked too long, but I just wanted you to know more about me and where I live. How was your day today? I hope things went well for you at school. I know how kids can be. Well, I think I probably talked your ears off!! Sorry about that. Take care my friend, and may God bless you and your family.

                                                              Your friend,
                                                            John
